Industry 4.0: Schmersal is now a member of the “Mechanical Engineering Future Alliance”

4th innovation dialogue for the national network to be held in Wuppertal

Wuppertal, 08 February 2017.  The Schmersal Group is now a member of the “Mechanical Engineering Future Alliance”. The national innovation network has set itself the target of reinforcing the position of small and medium-sized companies in mechanical engineering and industrial automation technology amid global competition. The network also offers interdisciplinary specialist and working groups made up of mechanical engineering, applied research and supplier industries and organises specialist conferences and initiates joint research projects to integrate new technologies and business models. This gives the member companies constant innovation impetus for the development of new technologies, especially with respect to the digital revolution and Industry 4.0. “We see Industry 4.0 as an opportunity to tap into growth potential both for our own company and for our customers. So we are pleased to have the opportunity to be part of the Mechanical Engineering Future Alliance and exchange new findings and experiences with other leading technology companies and contribute our own specialist expertise,” reports Constanze Compes, Head of Marketing, Schmersal Group. “Even in the Smart Factories of the future, operator safety will have to be guaranteed. So we see it as our role to develop innovative safety systems and solutions so that our customers can implement future-oriented concepts using safe, high-performance production systems. As a new member, Schmersal is hosting the 4th Innovation Dialogue for the Mechanical Engineering Future Alliance. The event is based on the subject of “Success strategies and strategic tools for dynamic change” and will be held on 6 April 2017 at the Schmersal headquarters in Wuppertal. The agenda also includes guided tours of the Schmersal production site.
